The Fog lifts…….Great Salmon Fishing Continues!

August 3, 2008

Unprecedented foggy weather and moderate easterly winds on the north coast of Labrador did not dampen the sprits of this past week’s guests or the great Salmon fishing that was experienced at the beautiful Flowers River Lodge.
Today was switch day. 12 new guests arrived at FRL 1pm today ( fog at FRL delayed the earlier scheduled departure from Goose Bay ). All guests commented on great fishing and a wonderful experience at the FRL.
Len Rich ( renown author of several Outdoor Books ) hooked over 20 Salmon / Grilse with one at 30 pounds at Max’s Pool. Chet Rock accompanied Len and commented that it was definitely a trip of a life time ( see his comments in the guest comments ). Chet landed and released two gorgeous hens, one at 39 inches and the other at 38 inches. Many other Large Salmon released this week by other guests with some Salmon measuring 40 inches!

Water levels are medium and water temperature remains cool.
