First “Latest News” posting……live from the beautiful Flowers River Lodge! Many thanks to “Geoff” for spending endless hours on our new web site.
We currently have 10 guests at the Lodge and river water levels are high and the water temperature is cold (you can expect exact river water temperature starting tomorrow). We still have snow on mountains just 4 miles south of Lodge. Today’s weather at 4:30pm is broken cloud and 15c with a light easterly wind.
Several Large Salmon have been released this week…….20 pounder at Red Beer Pool, 15 pounder at Island Pool and a 15 pounder at Burton’s Pool. Several Grilse and a 12 pounder were released at Top Pool yesterday.
Stephen Outerbridge and Jim Langor arrived back at Lodge at 10pm ( still daylight this far North ) and released 4 Grilse at Max’s Pool.
Stephen Clarke reports hooking a big 20+ pounder at Ground Hog Pool this evening!
The Beaver Floatplane will be taking 4 guests tomorrow on a fly-out for Arctic Char or Brook Trout.
We expect Arctic Char to migrate into the River any day.
