Newfoundland Sportsman film crew arrived today!

Clear skies and a warm temperature of 23C at the Lodge today with light easterly winds! This is switch day at Flowers River and our new guests all had a wonderful day fishing for Atlantic Salmon. Ray Smallwood hooked 5 and managed to land two (of the five) and John played one at Island Pool. Newfoundland Sportsman are visiting the Lodge this week and will be joining Ray & John at Island Pool tonight……..they should get some great action this evening. Mark & Dean had great action at Max’s pool. Al Bekus rose a fish at Jones pool this afternoon and seen other Salmon in the crystal clear water! Gary & Tucker fished Long Beach this afternoon and had very good action………..the wind is now calm on the river and this evening’s conditions are just about perfect for presenting the fly. Great Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings today………….thanks Sheila & Aubrey!
Evening Report.......Excellent fishing!
Ray hooked, landed and released a grilse at Island Pool that he caught on a orange bug.........the same fish had a blue charm fly in its mouth! Apparently John lost the same fish at lunch hour with a broken leader.....see photo.
Mark Beson landed and released a nice 15 pounder at Max's Pool!
