Migrating Atlantic Salmon
July 18, 2008
Weather today is cloudy with a light Northwest wind. River water level is high and river water temperature is 53F. Numerous and I mean numerous Salmon are in the River. Guest reported seeing a Salmon jump next to Beaver Floatplane this morning. All guests are hooking Large Salmon and the choice pool remains Top Pool followed closely by Max’s Pool & Red Bear Pool. Two Black Bears spotted last night…..one by guides camp and the other across the River. We had a successful fly-out yesterday at Char Lake with two large male Arctic Char and one female being harvested……..the female Char was absolutely delicious fried up on an open fire on the beach ( thanks to the skillful workmanship of guide Barry Slade ). Stephen Outerbridge hooked two large Salmon yesterday and Jim Langor also hooked a large Salmon. The next weeks Salmon fishing at Flowers River looks most encouraging with tonight’s Full Moon we suspect fresh migrating Salmon will enter the Flowers River. Guests have shared photo’s with us this week and we hope to have these current photo’s uploaded soon to our web site.
